Meet Dr. Brakta​

​

Dr. Soumia Brakta is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized fertility care. She specializes in in vitro fertilization (IVF), recurrent pregnancy loss, fertility preservation, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and reproductive genetics.

 

Dr. Brakta completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. She earned her medical degree and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and received her bachelor's degree from Loyola University New Orleans.


Prior to joining Audubon Fertility, Dr. Brakta served as an Assistant Professor at Augusta University, where she was actively involved in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows. She is an active clinical investigator with extensive experience as both a principal investigator and sub-investigator in national and international clinical trials evaluating innovative treatments for endometriosis, uterine fibroids, infertility, and reproductive health. She has served as a member of the Augusta University Institutional Review Board and held leadership roles in clinical research and reproductive laboratory oversight.

 

Her research interests include uterine fibroids, stem cell therapies for premature ovarian insufficiency, PCOS, reproductive genetics, Müllerian anomalies, and pubertal disorders. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and remains committed to advancing reproductive medicine through research while providing evidence-based, individualized care to help patients achieve their family-building goals.
